13.1 These Videos, Notes, Self-Checks, Practice Exam, and All Solutions

This is a short and focused “course” designed to serve as a companion to your textbook chapter on logarithms.
Its goal is to provide context for logarithms, share the human story behind them (and explain their unusual name!), and highlight the key mathematical concepts that matter most today. Many textbooks cover too much, leaving it unclear what’s truly important. This course is here to help sort that out.
Note: This is not a standalone course but a helpful supplement to your textbook!
Each main section includes:
* A video. (Heads up: I talk fast! You probably won’t need x1.5 or x2 speed settings.)
* A written piece. This expands on the video content, offering additional details and practice problems. (Solutions will soon be included here.)
* A quick and quirky self-check. A fun way to ask yourself, “Did I really get it?” Solutions are included.
Enjoy!
