Global Math Project Experiences
1.1 Welcome!
Lesson materials located below the video overview.
Welcome to a story about angles. The entire journey presented here is about the joy—and the mystery—of angles.
We’ll start with simple play to understanding what an angle is – both intuitively and formally – and use the remarkable tool of a pencil, pushing it through various angles, to reveal some remarkable results and mysteries in geometry! We’ll find ourselves playing with bicycles, tangled strings, and asking about bears by the end of it all!
This experience is suitable for everyone with double-digit age.
Enjoy!
TOPICS COVERED
* The intuitive and formal definitions of angles
* Believing — or not believing — the sum of angles in a triangle
* The Fundamental Belief of Euclidean geometry
* Interior and exterior angles of polygons: deriving formulas
* Surprising applications.
And here are the PDF guides
